Blog: idea, value, or belief….

Growing up I never really had to work for much now I know this sounds like I might have been spoiled in some ways I was and in others I wasn’t. But for the past 5 years now I have stuck to a quote that has always stood by me “hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.” This quote I found when I was called “fat” and I wouldn’t be able to do anything because it’s not in my “gene” by someone who I trusted and coming from them it hurt but it also turned on a side I didn’t know I had of proving people wrong. This came up when in 8th grade I didn’t make the Volleyball team. But in my defense I was in it to try something new and wasn’t so athletic at the time and didn’t know what I was getting myself into. So I began to workout and really start to take control of my body and my physical and mental health. I started of with just working out on just Saturday’s and Sunday’s over one Christmas break of my freshman year in high school and just kept going from there and progressed each and every time. There was a point when things took a turn for the worst and that is I stopped eating and just focused on working out more than I should have just to prove the wrong. It got so out of hand I fainted and ended up in the hospital not just once but three times. Over the past five years I always kept my head in the game and the quote in the back of my mind but also made sure I wasn’t over doing it because that wouldn’t help anybody and no matter how hard things got for me I kept going. Finally I made the Volleyball team my Sophomore and along the way found that I love running and it’s not something you hear everyday but I really enjoy it and do it every morning. Since than I have been part of the cross country and the track and field team and even accomplished team and individual awards because of my hard work that led up to each moment in my life. So the moral in just because someone say your to “fat” or you can’t because of what every reason remember “hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.” And you will prove them wrong like I did.
